Luke`s 13th Birthday

 Fishing at last! This is at Stewart Park, about 15 minutes away. A friend has lent the boys some fishing rods so they can finally go fishing!

I haven`t got photos of the pond where the boys go fishing in our neighbourhood, but it has been a great 'getaway place' for them when they need a break from school and some time out doing what they love to do. The neighbours have been great letting them fish in their pond.

 We celebrated Luke`s 13th Birthday at Lower Treman State Park. We had a great day and invited about 5 other families. Luke has made some really good friends and we have met some great like-minded families.

 Now time for the fun part! The kids were swimming and jumping off from a really high diving board near the waterfall. They had so much fun!

And now for Duncan..........

 Just about the whole of Ithaca also had the same idea as we had that day. The Summers here are very hot and temperatures can reach 45 degrees celsius.

Time for cake......again?

 After our picnic, we drove to "music in the park."

 Everyone brings their picnic dinner and drinks and we all park off on the Park grounds and listen to live music. They do this every Saturday evening during the Summer. We will definitely make this a regular family outing over the Summer.

The day was enjoyed by all! We are enjoying the Summer and trying to get out as much as we can to enjoy the lovely weather. We are yet to explore and discover all the trails but that will be for next time. 

We miss all our friends back home in Zimbabwe and we know that this is a particularly hard time at the moment with elections on the 31st July. Please know that you are all in our hearts and prayers and we do pray for peace and an end to all the atrocities and intolerance of certain groups!
